My name is Tricia Bartels and I have been a storyteller for over 30 years. While in college, I traveled to schools, churches and events telling not only Biblical stories, but stories of hope and inspiration. I now have written a book. This book is specifically targeted for children who have survived trauma. As a child I was severely traumatized and I found that when I was reading, I was safe. I also loved animals and still do. My book is a compilation of animal stories with the sole purpose of helping kids find healing and feel that they are understood.
Being a trauma surviver, my faith and God given imagination is what helped me find healing. I encourage you to read my book because each story's purpose is to help kids experience examples of caring for others, self-resilience, and bravery. I want to inspire others and give them hope that they are not in this alone. As communities, we need to embrace the thousands of children who have been through trauma so they do not feel alone in their journey towards healing.
If you are reading this for the first time and want to reach me, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Having survived severe ritual abuse as a young child, I am alive today by the grace of God. I was never supposed to live to tell my story, but here I am standing before you without fear or regret. If God could use me, He can use you. Perhaps my book can serve as a way to help you reach a lost and traumatized child. May you be blessed by these animal tales, and may you see healing in a new light.
